Company History

Impact Techniques (Ironville) Ltd was founded in 1979 initially to provide services to the UK engineering industry including shot peening and heat treatment of castings. In the early 1980’s the company became more heavily involved with providing specialist heat treatment services for products used in the Oil and Gas industry which, in turn, led to involvement in the manufacture of Cross Coupling and Cable Protector Clamps.

By 2000 manufacture of castings was sourced from within the EU. However, as prices became increasingly uncompetitive in worldwide markets, it was necessary to find alternative sources for manufacture without any compromise to product quality. As a consequence, the company began using China as the base for manufacture in 2002 involving high tech processes including Lost Wax and Investment Casting methods, backed up by 3D computer aided design.

In March 2004 the company set up office & workshop facilities in China to manage manufacture, testing, inspection  and supply of products designed within the UK office. Impact Techniques became accredited to ISO 9001:2000 in May 2005 and scope of  the company’s Quality Management System accreditation is currently to to ISO 9001:2015 covering all activities within both UK & China operations.

In 2008 we decided it would be beneficial to set up our own import/export company in China to give us greater control over suppliers and ensure we can keep our pricing low. Impact Techniques is continuously improving the design and scope of its products to meet changing customer and industry requirements.
